Getting Started with 4SCH
Whether you're new to 4SCH or helping your school transition from paper records or another system, this guide will walk you through the first steps.
New to 4SCH? Three Ways to Get Startedβ
4SCH is a modern enterprise School Management System designed to elevate service delivery for schools, enabling schools to much more effectively orchestrate a very productive teaching and learning process using modern technology.
There are three real ways a new school joins 4SCH. The right one depends on where you are right now:
π§ͺ Path 1: Try a Demo School (no commitment)β
The fastest way to see 4SCH in action β perfect when you're still evaluating the platform.
Step 1: Visit www.4sch.com.
Step 2: Click Create a Demo School (or the equivalent "try the platform" call to action on the homepage).
Step 3: Enter your name, your email, and any school name (e.g. "Demo Academy"). Click Create Demo and you'll be signed in to a brand-new sample school in seconds.
The demo comes pre-loaded with sample classes, students, fees, and notifications, so you can explore every module without any setup work. Click around freely β the demo is intentionally protected so you can't break anything or charge real cards.
The demo data is shared across everyone trying the platform and gets reset periodically. Don't put any real student information into a demo school. When you're ready to use 4SCH for real, take Path 2 or 3.
If you've just sent an inquiry (Path 2 below) and you're waiting for the 4SCH team to get back to you, take Path 1 in a separate browser tab. You'll arrive at first sign-in already knowing where everything is.
βοΈ Path 2: Send a School Inquiryβ
If you've found 4SCH on your own and you'd like to bring your school onto the platform, the simplest first step is to send an inquiry from our website.
Step 1: Go to www.4sch.com.
Step 2: Click Inquire about 4SCH in the top navigation.
Step 3: Fill in the short inquiry form:
- Your school name
- The email address we should reply to
- A phone number so we can call you back if needed
- A short note about your school β number of students, level (primary, secondary, etc.) and location
Step 4: Click Submit. You'll see a confirmation message right away, and a copy is also sent to the email address you provided.
Step 5: Our team reviews your inquiry β usually within one or two working days β and gets in touch to discuss your school's needs and walk you through the available subscription packages.
The public inquiry form is enabled by 4SCH. If you don't see the Inquire about 4SCH button on the homepage, your country or region may be using a direct-provisioning model instead β just email us using the details below and we'll take it from there.
π Path 3: Provisioned Directly by Your 4SCH Support Contactβ
If you've already spoken to someone on the 4SCH team β or if your school has been recommended through a partner β you don't need to fill in the inquiry form. Your support contact will provision your school directly and email you what you need to sign in.
What to expect in your welcome email:
- The exact web address to sign in to your school's 4SCH dashboard (e.g.
yourschool.4sch.com) - Your username (usually your email address)
- A temporary password β you'll be asked to change this the first time you sign in
- A short summary of which subscription package has been set up for you, or a note that you'll choose one yourself on first login
Check your spam or junk folder β it sometimes lands there on the first delivery. If it still isn't there, reply to your support contact and they'll re-send it.

Your First Loginβ
Whichever path brought you here, your very first sign-in is the same.
Step 1: Access the System
- Open your web browser (Chrome, Firefox, or Safari recommended)
- Click the sign-in link in your welcome email, or go to your school's 4SCH URL (e.g.
yourschool.4sch.com) - Enter the username and temporary password provided
- Click Sign In
Step 2: Change Your Temporary Password On first sign-in 4SCH asks you to set a new password. Choose something strong and memorable, type it twice, and click Save.
Step 3: Understand Your Dashboard
What you see depends on your role:
- Administrators see school-wide statistics, pending tasks, and quick access to settings
- Teachers see today's classes, attendance reminders, and recent assignments
- Parents see their children's recent activity, upcoming events, and fee status
- Students see their timetable, assignments due, and recent grades
Step 4: A Couple of Quick Housekeeping Things From the profile menu in the top-right corner:
- Update your profile β add your full name, mobile number, and a profile picture
- Check your notification preferences β make sure email, in-app and push notifications are switched on so you don't miss anything important
Don't worry if things look unfamiliar. Click around and explore β you can't break anything! Each section of the dashboard has help text explaining what it does.
Choosing Your Subscription Packageβ
If you're a School Admin signing in for the first time, your dashboard will show one of two things:
-
A "Current Plan" banner at the top β if your 4SCH support contact already set up a custom subscription package for your school when they provisioned you, it's active and you don't need to do anything else right now. Read the Subscription & Billing guide to see what's included and how to view bills and receipts.
-
A prompt to choose a package β if no package was assigned for you, go to Settings β Subscription in the left menu. You'll see two tabs at the top: Recurring (auto-renews each month or term) and Prepaid (pay-as-you-go for a fixed period). Compare the preset packages β each card shows the price, the student and staff limits, and the modules included β then click Subscribe on the one that fits your school. Complete the payment via Paystack, Flutterwave or Stripe (depending on what's configured), and your plan is active immediately.
The full walkthrough β including how to view your billing history, download PDF receipts, switch on auto-renew, and what happens at expiry and during the grace period β is in the Subscription & Billing guide and the Choosing Your Subscription Package video tutorial.

Moving from Paper to Digitalβ
If your school previously used registers and notebooks, here's how 4SCH replaces them:
| Old Method | 4SCH Equivalent |
|---|---|
| Attendance register | Digital attendance marking (saves automatically) |
| Grade book | Online gradebook (calculates averages automatically) |
| Report cards | Generated automatically from entered grades |
| Fee receipts | Digital receipts (parents can download anytime) |
| Notice board | School announcements (sent to all phones instantly) |
| Teacher-parent meetings | In-app messaging (anytime communication) |
You don't have to stop using paper completely right away. Many schools run both systems side-by-side for one term while everyone gets comfortable with 4SCH.
